about
First official vinyl reissue, including two bonus tracks, redesigned back-cover and hand-numbered to 200 copies (150 in black and 50 in red vinyl). The highly collectable debut album by Contraluz, originally released in 1973 on EMI, is the most exemplary hard-psych masterpiece to ever emerge from the prolific Argentinean scene, interspersed with proggy corridors that are scented with folky elements. This is a pure ear-pampering experience for those who crave in-your-face hard sonic assaults and ferocious rhythm-sections, topped up with majestic flutework and glimpses of prog serenity around the edges. The legendary Americanos is packed with sticky tunes, from the homonymous opening track, a straight psych-folk anthem of comparable gravitas to Jaivas’ ‘Todos Juntos’, the acid-drenched ‘Clave De Sol’ and ‘La Sarna Del Viento’, to the ethereally proggy ‘El Charco’.
Mystical new single from Australian psych project the Dandelion features twisting Farfisa lines, ghostly vocals, and spaced out atmosphere. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 16, 2018
Big, clanging psych-rock from this Arizona outfit fuses monk-like vocals with slow-winding guitars for songs that feel like strange hymns. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2016

Brilliant retro/symphonic/folky prog from Norway. Pastoralia was great, but I think I like this even better! This album sounds as if they made it for me, simply love it!
If you're imagining Mirage-era Camel with Norwegian woods, er, words, you'll might guess what to expect. At least, that's how I would describe it. Or just check the liner notes here. They nail it, too... Carsten Pieper
